SHAH ALAM - MCA President, Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, conveyed his deepest condolences to the grieving family of the late Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, who had been serving as the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs until his untimely passing today.

"Condolences to the family of Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, the Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDN) who passed away a short while ago.

"Salahuddin was a former student of Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (KTAR), which has now been upgraded to TAR University College (TARUC). May his soul be blessed with mercy.

"His contributions and services to the community and the nation will surely be remembered forever. The passing of the late Pulai MP is a significant loss to the people, especially in the state of Johor," wrote Wee on Facebook.

It was reported that Salahuddin, 61, was rushed to the Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) in Alor Setar, Kedah on Saturday after experiencing nausea and vomiting. It was later confirmed that he had a brain hemorrhage.

While it was initially rubbished by his former press secretary, news of the former Amanah deputy president's death was confirmed by his daughter Fatihah in a social media post shortly after.
