Salahuddin to be buried near family graves in Pontian

PONTIAN - The remains of the late Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub will be buried near the graves of his father, Ayub Umar and grandfather, Awang Abdul Hamid, at the Tanah Perkuburan Jalan Sulong, Kampung Serkat, here on Monday.

The preparations for burial plot is currently underway while awaiting the body's arrival.

According to a village resident, Alias Harun, 71, the body would be buried near the graves of his father and grandfather.

Currently, the remains of the late minister is at the Masjid Dato' Hj Nob Gadot, Serkat, for funeral prayers and would be taken to the cemetery around 11am for burial.

The minister passed away at 9.23pm at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital, Alor Setar, Kedah, last night at the age of 61.

Meanwhile, the body arrived at the Masjid Dato Haji Noh Gadot, Serkat, for prayers at 8.50am today.
