YAN - Caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor confirmed that law enforcement officers detained another of his senior officers to assist in an investigation.

Sanusi said his party has always fully cooperated with the authorities. Therefore, he has asked for the staff summoned by the authorities to cooperate fully.

However, Sanusi who is also the PN Elections Director General explained that he did not know the details of the arrest.

"The efforts (to tarnish my image) seem to be getting more vigorous day by day," he said after handing over the Grant and Temporary Occupancy License (LPS) for the Yan District here on Monday.

Previously, a viral message had claimed that a senior official to the caretaker Mentri Besar has been remanded for three days at the Alor Setar Sessions Court after being arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

When asked if the arrest could be linked to the previous arrest of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Kedah Menteri Besar Corporation (MBI), Muhammad Sanusi said he did not discount the possibility.

"Yes, I think so. Because the only result of the Pakatan Harapan brainstorming in an attempt to bring down PN is the issue of rare earth elements (REE). It's okay; let them (PH) have a go at it. We have no problem.

"I just relax and tell those who are called for questioning (to cooperate). Whatever they want, we tell. We have nothing to worry about.
