Acting Director of Tanjung Sedili Maritime Zone, Maritime Commander Mohd Najib Sam, said the body was found at around 1.08pm about 23.4 nautical miles from Sedili waters.
"We received information about the discovery of the body from a local fishing boat that was fishing in the area.
"Upon receiving the information, the Petir Boat 50 was sent to the location to obtain more detailed information," he said.
Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, the body of the man, fully dressed in a black shirt with red stripes and black shorts, was found floating.
The unidentified body was then taken to the Tanjung Sedili Maritime Zone jetty and handed over to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), before being taken to Kota Tinggi Hospital for further action.
" Any information related to this incident can be channeled directly to the Tanjung Sedili Maritime Zone Operations Center at 07-8916591," he said.
