SHAH ALAM: Gerakan president Datuk Dominic Lau lodges a police report today claiming his Twitter account had been hacked.

This follows an insensitive tweet he had allegedly posted after the passing of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub.

"I have earlier lodged a police report at the Sri Hartamas police station over the hacking of my Twitter account by an unidentified individual.

"I would like to inform that I have never uploaded such statement on my Twitter account that has since become viral," he tweeted last night.

Social media users had condemned Lau over the insensitive post that was deleted.

The tweet read: "Is it OK if I contest for the Pulai by-election?"

Lau then claimed that his Twitter had been hacked and was shocked to find that such a tweet had been posted on his account at 12.37pm

Salahuddin, who was 61, died at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital in Alor Setar on Sunday night.

The Pulai member of parliament and Simpang Jeram assemblyman had undergone surgery for a brain hemorrhage.
