SHAH ALAM - Winning the state elections in the East Coast of Kelantan and Terengganu is challenging but not impossible for both Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN), said PKR vice-president Nik Nazmi Ahmad.

"The desire for something new can be seen in both states, but the road to realising that is still long and challenging.

"The important thing this time is that we have a strong opposition and the opportunity to work with BN.

"But in the long term, there needs to be planning, including rebuilding PKR and PH there," he said in an interview with former Umno youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin Abu Bakar and former Umno information chief Shahril Sufian Hamdan yesterday.

Nik Nazmi added that the two states would be given priority to BN, especially Umno because it has more strength.

"But I also know that PKR and Amanah have their strengths in most places.

"So if we can visualise having a unity government, we have PH and BN to win in both states," he said.

The Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change Minister also believes that PH can take over Kelantan if given about four or five years.

"Of course, Kelantan has its own culture; it is different from other states... we need to take an approach that can win the people's hearts," he said.
