BAYAN LEPAS: Penang PKR is confident of winning all 13 seats contested by the party in the upcoming state election.

Adviser to the State PKR Leadership Council Datuk Law Choo Kiang said the party is confident in the abilities of the candidates who have been named despite being new faces.

"I believe this is a very strong combination because we have candidates from various backgrounds.

"Our target is to win all the seats, and we will not compromise because in the previous term we also won all the seats," he said during a press conference after a meeting with Penang former assemblymen and state election candidates here on Wed.

Speaking about the challenges contending with Perikatan Nasional (PN), PKR said it was not afraid of the spectre of a 'green wave, which has been hyped about in recent times.

On the other hand, Law described the matter as a deliberate effort to undermine the position of Pakatan Harapan (PH) in the state.

He said he is confident that with the existing coalition, the voters in Penang are wise enough to choose the government that will represent them.

"Even the existing coalitions are getting closer and better in terms of cooperation, so naturally our focus is only to win all the seats.

"With the record we have had in governing Penang, I am confident that the voters will make a wise choice," he added.

In the meantime, he also stated that the previous seat holders also gave full support to the new candidates, including the handover of party machinery and the requirements to contest in the state polls on Aug 12.
