KOTA BHARU - Pas deputy president, Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, disclosed that Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, also known as Nik Abduh, has declined the offer to contest in the state election.

"We have discussed the matter, and Nik Abduh is fine with not competing.

"As far as the party's commitment is concerned, there is no issue," he said during a press conference at the Kelantan's Perikatan Nasional candidate announcement ceremony at Dataran Warisan Stadium Sultan Muhammad IV yesterday.

Tuan Ibrahim added that there are various ways to contribute to politics without necessarily being a candidate.

He revealed that Nik Abduh expressed his desire to focus on the Maahad Darul Anuar Religious Secondary School (SMUA) and the Tuan Guru Nik Abdul Aziz Mosque Complex in Pulau Melaka.

Stressing the importance of continuing Tok Guru's legacy, Tuan Ibrahim stated that being a candidate is not the sole means of carrying forward the late Tok Guru's struggle.

"While we initially offered him the opportunity to contest in several areas, which he could consider, in the end, he decided to reject the nomination offer," Tuan Ibrahim added.
