More will be announced for the people

PUTRAJAYA - Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to announce more details and policies that will be implemented under the Madani Economy framework.

Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook said the economic narrative launched will be a guide for developing the national economy and the implementation of economic policies under the administration of the Unity Government.

"What was announced today is actually just a framework. There will be many more details that will be announced and implemented after this," he told Sinarexclusively on Thursday.

According to him, within that framework, there are seven benchmarks set as medium-term targets that need to be achieved within 10 years, including making Malaysia one of the world's 30 largest economies.

"It serves as a guide for (the Federal government administration) to achieve the vision of a country with better integrity in terms of corruption index, to be more competitive, the involvement of many women in the employment sector and so on," he said.

In addition, Anthony said, a review of the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK-12) will also be held.

"There will be a new industrial policy to be announced by the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) soon.

This is all aimed at supporting the Madani Economy framework announced by the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim," he said.
