SHAH ALAM - With one more day left to nomination day, PKR replaced its candidate for the Kota Damansara seat, Aidi Amin Yazid with its Selangor Youth leader, Izuan Kassim.

According to a close source who declined to be named, the party claimed it was due to technical and internal reasons that the party decided to nominate a new candidate.

Last Saturday, party president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had announced law graduate Aidi as the party's candidate for the seat, replacing incumbent Shatiri Mansor.

Aidi is the political secretary to the Sungai Buloh MP, Datuk R Ramanan.

"Actually Izuan's name had been recommended but for unknown reasons it was changed.

"The reason's for these last minute change is still unclear, in our circles we were just told that it was due to some internal and technical matters, but its true that we have changed the candidate for the seat, " the source said.

Izuan is also the deputy of the Peninsular Malay Students' Association (GPMS) and is vocal in issues of national interest.

Voter sentiments on the ground seemed to have hoped that Anwar would re-nominate incumbent Shatiri Mansor for the seat, as it seems he was well liked and served the people well since 2018
