SEBERANG PRAI - In a notable development, former DAP member David Marshall has announced his candidacy as an independent candidate for the Perai state seat in the upcoming Penang state election.

With a decade of dedicated service as a counsellor, David is confident in his chances of securing the seat, expressing his belief in victory.

"I hope to be successful as a candidate for N16 Perai, and I pray for a smooth nomination process today. With my track record of 10 years serving the rakyat, many people know me. I will put forth my best effort in this election," David conveyed to the media at Dewan Al-Azim, Kolej Vokasional Seberang Perai nomination at 9am today.

The nomination center saw candidates from various political parties submitting their nomination forms during the allotted hour (9am to 10am).

In addition to Perai, the nomination center will oversee two other state legislative assembly seats to be contested, namely Bukit Tengah and Bukit Tambun.

As the electoral race picks up momentum, David Marshall's decision to contest as an independent candidate adds a new dimension to the political landscape in Perai.

Voters in the constituency will have the opportunity to assess and make their choices, shaping the future representation and governance in the region.
