SIK - Caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has pledged to ‘ask’ Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution one question daily in response to the latter's ‘diligent effort’ in investigating random issues.

Sanusi, the Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for the Jeneri state legislative assembly seat, claimed that the Pakatan Harapan Secretary-General was ‘very’ active in probing cases, including those that have been previously concluded.

"I will have a question ready for him (Saifuddin) every day, one day at a time, I promise... (Since) he is diligent in probing this, and that, reopening investigations that have already been concluded so diligently, I will give him something for him to work on," he said.

Sanusi said this after the official announcement of candidates for the Jeneri state assembly seats at the Sik Land and District Office candidate nomination centre on Saturday.

Sanusi, who is Jeneri's incumbent, will face the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Datuk Muhamad Khizri Abu Kassim.

The PN Election Director General won the Jeneri seat in the 14th general elections (GE14) after defeating his predecessors, Mahadzir Abdul Hamid (BN) and Mohd Nazri Abu Hassan (PKR).

Separately, Sanusi also claimed that Saifuddin had misused government machinery for political campaigns.

"Even yesterday, when he campaigned in Langkawi, he used the Immigration Department to check in the hotel... I know 15 rooms are under management. That shouldn't have happened; using a government agency when campaigning for your party is wrong. I have never done that, and the people of Malaysia cannot accept it," he claimed.

Earlier, Sanusi posted a picture of a hotel booking invoice on his Facebook account. The invoice was in the name of the Immigration Department in Langkawi.

Sanusi also said he anticipates ongoing attacks aimed at him throughout the two-week campaign process to heighten.

"Attack anything. I can answer, I will answer, what I can't answer, I leave it to Allah," he said.

Meanwhile, the opposition lawmaker said he would continue his legal suit against Saifuddin regarding the last statement claiming he was involved in stealing rare earth minerals (REE).

"That day, he accused me of stealing REE, but then he said it was stolen. Isn't that twisted? Everyone knows," he said.
