SHAH ALAM - Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli has raised questions about Perikatan Nasional's (PN) focus during its 33 months in government.

In a Twitter video, Rafizi stressed the importance of prioritising the well-being of the people, especially when it comes to their salaries.

He expressed concerns that PN seemed to be more interested in building an airport that might not be fully utilised, rather than addressing the pressing issue of people's wages.

According to Rafizi, a country's economic priorities should revolve around its citizens' welfare and prosperity.

"We need to concentrate on ensuring a progressive salary policy that allows employees to receive annual raises, closing the wage gap in line with the rising cost of living," Rafizi said.

He slammed PN for not actively discussing or addressing the issue of people's salaries during their time in power.

Instead, he claimed, they primarily focused on projects without taking into account the escalating cost of goods, shortages, and inflation that occurred under their administration.

"The inflation issue also arose during their tenure, yet they failed to address the matter of salary increments," Rafizi said.
