Cops tracking down man who trespassed Maluri LRT station, molested woman

SHAH ALAM – Prasarana Malaysia Berhad's (Prasarana) auxilary police are working together with the Royal Malaysia Police to track down a man who had trespassed the Maluri Light Rail Transit (LRT) station platform and sexually harassed a woman.

In a statement, Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd said the incident occured at about 7.58am, yesterday.

It said the man who was believed to be mentally challenged was suspected to have trespassed the LRT track through platform 1 to platform 2 before sexually assaulting the victim who was waiting for a train at the platform.

"During the incident, the auxilary police on duty had rushed to the platform to help the victim. The public then managed to rescue the victim from the suspect but the suspect had acted aggresively and fled.

"The suspect once again trespassed the platform and knocked on the wall of the a train which stopped. The suspect fled from the station at about 8.05am," it said.

A video of the incident went viral on social media with social media users calling for the authorities to look into the matter and sought explanation from RapidKL.

Rapid Rail said it regretted that such incident had happened and had took immediate action by increasing the number of auxilary police at the stations to increase security to avoid such incidents from occuring again.
