Ex-Seberang Jaya assemblyman Afif moves to Taman Medan, straight fight with incumbent

PETALING JAYA - The atmosphere was electrifying as the official nomination announcement for the Taman Medan (N33) constituency took place this morning.

The upcoming state seat has garnered significant attention with only Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) fielding candidates for the urban seat making it a straight fight between the two.

The duo are incumbent Ahmad Akhir Pawan Chik from PKR and Bersatu’s Dr Afif Bahardin, who is former Seberang Jaya assemblyman, respectively.

No stranger to politics, Ahmad Akhir known for his dedication to community development and welfare, he has been actively involved in grassroots initiatives and has earned the trust of many residents in Taman Medan.

Meanwhile, Dr Afif is known for his experience in the healthcare sector and the Penang state assembly.

Both candidates have begun their campaigns in full swing, engaging with voters and outlining their visions for the future of Taman Medan.

Anticipation is mounting as to which candidate will emerge victorious, as the Taman Medan constituents voiced out the need to address infrastructural development, traffic congestion, education and economic growth.
