Father of PH's candidate for Sidam seat in Kedah dies
SUNGAI PETANI - The father of Pakatan Harapan (PH) candidate for the Sidam state seat in Kedah Bau Wong Bau Ek died at 9pm yesterday.
Bau Wong, when contacted by Bernama, said his 87-year-old father Bau Ek Endin Soon died due to shingles and measles.
He said the funeral will be held on Aug 1 and that the wake for his father will be at Wat Olak Madu for two days.
"So the last respects can be paid before the body is taken out on that date for the next process," he said.
The Kedah state election this time sees Bau Wong face a straight fight with Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate from Bersatu Juliana Abdul Ghani for the Sidam seat.
The EC set the state elections in Selangor, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Kelantan, Terengganu and Kedah as well as the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary by-election to be held simultaneously on Aug 12, with early voting on Aug 8. Nomination day was yesterday (July 29). - BERNAMA
