GEORGETOWN - DAP's Bagan Dalam candidate K Kumaran who will be contesting under the Pakatan Harapan banner, pledges to improve basic infrastructure, the cost of living, and affordable houses in his constituency.

Speaking during an election husting here, Kumaran shared his comprehensive manifesto focusing on upgrading the main roads, drainage system, and street lights.

"Basic infrastructure and utilities are very important.

As we know, it is very dark at night at Chain Ferry Road, so we are planning to add more street lights for the safety of the public," he said in 'Ceramah Harapan PRN' at Wolley Car Park in Raja Udah today.

Kumaran further highlighted the cost of living and housing issues in Bagan Dalam, assuring that more low-cost or rent-to-buy houses will be built for Penangnites.

"There are many village houses in Bagan Dalam. The Penang government, under Unity Government, has many plans for Penangnites, including more affordable houses, low-cost houses, and rent-to-buy houses.

"This is because many B40 residents could not apply for a house loan; therefore, we are focusing on increasing the affordable and low-cost houses in Bagan Dalam," he stressed.

Not forgetting the multi-racial society, Kumaran said that allocations will be given to mosques and houses of worship for non-Muslims as well.
