SHAH ALAM - With the upcoming August 12 state elections drawing near, Perikatan Nasional (PN) Selangor is advocating for a change in the state government.

Selangor Pas secretary Roslan Shahir said PN Selangor has nominated 56 qualified and professional candidates to lead the richess state in the country with an annual revenue exceeding RM2 billion.

"Pakatan Harapan (PH) had been given the opportunity to govern for one term but failed to meet the aspirations and desires of the Selangor people.

"In response, PN Selangor took rigorous measures to ensure that the presented candidates not only possess the required qualifications but are also acceptable to the people of Selangor," Roslan said.

The announcement of the 56 PN Selangor candidates was made during a session held at the main PN Selangor Operations Room, located at Emira Residen & Urban Retail in Section 13. Selangor.

Bersatu Secretary Datuk Azman Yaakob and Gerakan Secretary Chong Hak Beang were also present at the event.

Among the candidates presented were 40 Malays, 10 Chinese and six Indians. The roster includes 43 new faces and 12 young candidates with an average age of 47 years old.

On the selection of the caretaker Selangor Menteri Besar, Roslan said all 56 PN candidates contesting are eligible for consideration as the Menteri Besar.

According to the laws governing the formation of the Selangor State Government, the power to appoint the Menteri Besar lies with the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.
