PERMATANG PAUH - Penang Umno youth chief Mohd Hilmi Elias gave an assurance that the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition maintains the dignity of Islam in Penang.

During his speech at Santai Anak Muda Perpaduan at Taman Prominence, Bandar Perda, he questioned, "Hey Pas! Do you think Umno and PKR are not Muslims?".

Hilmi said this during his ceramah at Santai Anak Muda Perpaduan at Taman Prominence, Bandar Perda, here.

Hilmi said that political party is a platform for the rakyat and not a religious party.

"Due to politics, we may be seen as enemies. But I want to stress that this is not in line with Islamic teachings," he added.

He further expressed disappointment that Pas was perceived as a perfect Islamic party.

"That is not true at all. We are all ordinary people and nothing is perfect."

He ended his ceramah expressing gratitude for the strong bond and unity that exists in Penang under the unity government.
