KOTA BHARU - Kelantan Pas said that there is no need to give any hint as to who will be elected Menteri Besar (MB) in the state before the poll is over.

Pas Deputy Mursyidul Am Datuk Ahmad Yakob said that it was necessary to focus on the people and the candidates' preparation to face the state election on Aug 12.

The caretaker Kelantan MB said that there was no need for hints because all the candidates who were running in the state are eligible to succeed to the throne.

"There is no need for hints because everyone is qualified. Exco and Menteri Besar are both eligible.

"No one is unqualified. It is not time yet now. We will decide later," he said after Kelantan E-Wallet Pay launch ceremony on Tuesday.

Also present was Kelantan Human Development, Education, Higher Education, Science and Technology Committee Exco Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan.

Ahmad said that the appointment of the top post holder in the administration of Kelantan government would only be determined after Perikatan Nasional (PN) won the state poll and Pas was able to defend the state government.

"After the election, we will organise the best. Right now, we focus on the people and our candidates first.

"We are waiting for the results after this and within a few days, we will decide who will be the Menteri Besar," he said.

Previously, Ahmad who defended Pasir Pekan seat stated that his candidacy in the state election this time would be his last.

The nomination in the state assembly entered the seventh term and it was time for him to make way for younger candidates.

Ahmad (PN-Pas) would compete against Mohamad Zamakh Sari Ibrahim (Pakatan Harapan-Parti Keadilan Rakyat).
