Sinar Harian offers 'Berani Semuka' platform for Rafizi-Syahir debate

SHAH ALAM - Sinar Harian has offered to host the debate between Economy Minister and PKR deputy president Rafizi Ramli and Bachok MP Syahir Sulaiman.

This was after the two politicians expressed that they wanted to engage in a face-to-face debate on economic matters concerning the country.

Sinar Harian is offering its platform, 'Berani Semuka' at the auditorium facility at Kompleks Karangkraf as the venue for the debate session.

Its Editor-in-Chief Zamri Rambli said the auditorium can accommodate up to 300 audiences and supporters from both sides.

"We also have comprehensive technical facilities to enable this programme to be aired live for broader coverage.

"National Journalism Laureate Tan Sri Johan Jaaffar has also agreed to be the moderator for the special economic debate between the two political leaders," he said.

Sinar Harian is experienced in managing debate-based programmes such as 'Berani Semuka' aired on a monthly basis, 'Wacana Sinar Harian' which is a weekly programme as well as various other talk shows.

For 'Berani Semuka', Sinar Harian previously featured prominent figures engaging in debates on current issues, including politics and government policies.

For example, on Aug 14, 2020, former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof and former Tabung Haji (TH) chairman Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Rahim have discussed about TH's financial issues.

In addition, on Feb 23, 2021, Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abd Rahman and Seberang Jaya assemblyman Dr Afif Bahardin had debated during the programme entitled 'MCO, Rakyat Terabai? YB Sila Jawab'.

On Dec 28, 2021, Permatang Pasir assemblyman Faiz Fadzil and Bersatu Supreme Council member Mohd Rafiq Mohd Abdullah discussed the topic of natural disasters in the country.

Former Umno Youth chief Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki and Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Abdul Karim on Jan 13, 2022, debated on the issue of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawals.

On June 23, 2022, deputy Youth secretary Amira Aisya Abd Aziz and Umno Puteri exco Fadwah Anuwar, discussed on big tent party entitled 'Khemah Besar Realiti atau Fantasi'.

On Sep 26, 2022, Umno's Supreme Council member Datuk Mohd Razlan Rafii and DAP central committee Member Howard Lee, debated on a topic entitled 'Solo atau Gabung Parti, Rakyat Dapat Apa?'.

Sinar Harian consistently remained committed to air talk show programmes aimed at nation-building and has previously been involved in the Prime Debate between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
