HULU LANGAT - Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has challenged former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to prove that no misuse of power occurred during his time in office.

Anwar made the challenge during a ceramah in Semenyih on Tuesday, where he also accused Muhyiddin of enriching his cronies and family.

The Pakatan Harapan (PH) chairman claimed the country had been damaged by the former prime minister's actions of only maintaining his power and family.

"He (Muhyiddin) was grabbing everything. He would curse me in heaps. But he could not reprimand or threaten me (on the reason) of using powers to take the nation's money.

"I want to ask Muhyiddin, you are speaking so much, can you say 'nothing was done'? It's like the contract of your child and son-in-law, (but) you aren't speaking clean," he said.

Anwar stated he had seen the files related to the misuse of power.

"Some individuals (said), 'yes Tan Sri is clean'. I'm different from who I was previously, I have seen the files.

"Now I've seen the file (as Finance Minister)," he explained.

On February 9, Muhyiddin had already refuted accusations of granting a National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe) contract to the Iris Corporation Berhad, a company linked to his son-in-law.

He dismissed the allegations as a deliberate attempt to tarnish his reputation and smear his family.

The Pagoh MP attributed the matter to malicious accusations against him by the PH-BN government led by Anwar. - AWANI
