SHAH ALAM – Kelantan Amanah chairman Khalid Abdul Samad says Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin would never be the saviour of Selangor as what the latter’s supporters claim.

Khalid said he was confident that the sentiment on Muhyiddin being a ‘saviour’ for his efforts during his administration as prime minister when the Covid-19 pandemic took place, would not work on Selangor voters in the state polls this time around.

“You wanted to be called a hero?. People could not step out of their homes to look for food because of your (Muhyiddin) lockdowns.

"He introduced the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) withdrawals, but instead of becoming more stable, the people are becoming poorer from debt while the government became richer.

“I know it shows that the government has money and could help, but the purpose of the financial assistance was not to help the people, but just to show how 'kind' Muhyiddin was,” he said at the Batu Tiga ceramah, last night.

Khalid added that it was important for all Malaysians to vote for leaders who prioritised unity and harmony for the people and not those who were only looking to have a high status.
