'Be concerned about your own party instead of me', Lau tells Chow

BAYAN LEPAS - "Be concerned about your own party, Perikatan Nasional (PN) is doing fine," Gerakan President Datuk Dominic Lau Hoe Chai chides Penang Pakatan Harapan (PH) chief Chow Kon Yeow.

Lau said he was not sure why Chow needed to be concerned about him.

"I just want to say thank you to Chow over his concern for me.

"I am not sure why he is so concerned about me all of a sudden, he needs to be concerned about his party instead," Lau said stressing that all component parties in PN are united.

Lau also raised a few questions and urged Chow to look into the issues within PH instead.

"I have two questions for Chow, who is the 'maharaja' meant by Penang DAP deputy chairman P. Ramasamy.

"I also heard that there are many Dap excos who are not being fielded to contest in this state elections.

"I hope Chow can answer these questions, he has to take care and be concerned about his own party," he said when met by reporters in Sungai Batu here today.

Previously, DAP announced that its 19 candidates for the state elections and seven former assemblymen's names were dropped, including five former excos and among them was former deputy chief minitser P. Ramasamy.

On July 28, it was reported that Chow claimed that he has nothing personal against Ramasamy nor with former Bagan Dalam assemblyman M. Satees who announced that they were leaving the party and contesting as an independent candidate for the state elections.

It was also reported that Chow said that there were members who were proposed by the party's state steering committee, but did not get selected as candidates for the election and there were also those who were not happy that there were members who did not get nominated.

When asked on whether he felt the party was at a loss for losing so many candidates with experience as exco members, he said that he would work on a new line of exco members should he get reappointed as chief minister.
