BALING - In a bid to quash lingering racial suspicions, DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke delivered a booming oath that the party will support any policies to uplift the Malays.

“Today, I declare that DAP will support policies to help the Malays because to help the Malays is to help Malaysians as well.

“We want to ensure that the social economy of poor Malaysians are uplift. This is our commitment,” said Loke in his speech during the Jelajah Perpaduan Madani, here, last night.

The Seremban MP also assured the Malays that they should not fear DAP, as the Chinese-majority party posed no threat to the Malays at all.

“I came here tonight to show to the people of Baling how a DAP leader looks like. Look at my face.

“Do I look like a bad person? Is this a face that you should be worried off? A face to be feared?

“No. This is a face of a good man,” claimed Loke who is also the Transport Minister.

As such, Loke implored on Umno and Barisan Nasional’s (BN) machinery to work hard to ensure that the Malay party’s candidates win the coming Kedah polls.
