JITRA - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor to explain the allegations of rare earth elements (REE) theft in the state.

Anwar, who is also the chairman of Pakatan Harapan said that Sanusi should be ashamed of the allegations, and that he should provide an explanation to the people of Kedah.

"He said that the Prime Minister is like a toilet, just because he inspected toilets. I don't feel insulted. Those are our children's schools, our grandchildren's schools.

"There's nothing wrong, there's nothing to be ashamed of.

"You should be ashamed when you misuse power to steal logs, rare earth and then curse people.

"We need your immediate responses," he said when speaking at a ceramah at the PH-BN Operations Room here yesterday.

Anwar also called on state leaders to set a good example for young people by preaching wisely and in the direction of goodness.

He said that state leaders should not utter insulting words to others.

He said that state leaders also need to be able to work and have a good relationship with the Federal Government for the sake of the state to be involved.
