GUA MUSANG - The National Month celebration in the district has been enlivened by a convoy of about 60 motorcycles that is making pit stops at nine Madani Communities in three state constituencies.

More than 200 youths from Paloh, Nenggiri and Galas state constituencies are taking part in the three-day convoy that began yesterday.

The convoy began its journey in Sungai Bayu, Paloh, and Chiku (in the Paloh state constituency), and will travel to Limau Kasturi, Jeram Tekoh and Rantau Manis (in the Nenggiri state constituency) as well as the Tengku Razaleigh Mosque, Dataran Kesedar and Kuala Betis (in the Galas state constituency).

Kampung Baru Madani Community chairman Wan Muhammad Muzaffar Wan Azmi said the convoy, which was organised in collaboration with the Information Department (JaPen), was also held to instil and enhance patriotic spirit among the communities.

"We gather about 60 motorcycles from Kampung Baru Madani Community, Kuala Betis Madani Community and Bandar Gua Musang Madani Community, to travel from one community to another covering a distance of 26 kilometres while flying the Jalur Gemilang flag and playing patriotic songs,” he said when met by reporters at the Tengku Razaleigh Mosque, here today.

Shafiq Razak, 29, from the Galas constituency, described the programme as a good platform to strengthen unity among people of different races, as participants from the Chinese, Indian, and Orang Asli communities were also involved.

"Thank you to the Gua Musang JaPen for bringing us together for this programme,” said the convoy participant.

Meanwhile, Gua Musang Information officer Norhayati Shamsu Anuar said the programme was held as one of the government’s efforts to instil the spirit of patriotism among youths in the district.
