SHAH ALAM - "Nothing will change if touching on this (water) issue is an offence," says social media influencer and YouTuber Syahmi Sazli who came forward explaining his wife's expression towards the prominent water issue in Kelantan after over 30 years of the state government's administration.

However, Syahmi said his wife Anissa Faizul voicing it out did not mean that it was a plea for a change in the state government.

“I think this (water) issue is present despite only affecting a few. Touching on this issue should not become an offence.

“I personally have no issues with who is governing as long as the basic (needs) of the people is fulfilled and solved,” he said in a three-minute and 31-second video uploaded on his Facebook on Saturday.

Anissa, 25, previously received several threats and criticisms from netizens after she made comments on the water issue on Facebook on Friday.

Syahmi, 28, explained that some had questioned the legitimacy of his wife’s statement as the water issues were not seen happening in their homes and his bottled drinks business was operating as per usual.

“Actually Nissa (Anissa) shared a post about a problem faced by a woman in the Pasir Mas Facebook group who expressed that she was expereiencing water issues for six months.

“Nissa shared it and wrote a caption. However, she did not once mention wanting to change the state government or party. This is the public’s issue and Nissa shared it,” he said.

Syahmi apologised to his fans if they felt offended over his wife's post on Facebook regarding the matter.
