SUNGAI PETANI - Contrary to earlier reports, Caretaker Kedah menteri besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor has neither been called for questioning nor detained by the police today.

The clarification over the matter was made by its corporate communication chief, ACP Skanandaguru Anandan following a report by Astro Awani claiming so.

“No one from Bukit Aman, the Kedah Contingent or the Kedah District Police have acted in such manner as reported by the news portal.

“The Police requested for Astro Awani which reported the fake news to issue an apology and retract the news report.

“The act of publishing such fake news can lead to public unrest especially given the election campaign scenario,” read the statement.

Earlier this evening, Padang Serai MP Azman Nasrudin also made a statement saying that Sanusi had been called for questioning by the police but said that was the only information he knew so far.
