Hamzah: All Negeri Sembilan PN candidates eligible to be Menteri Besar

KUALA PILAH - All Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidates who are running in the Negeri Sembilan state elections are qualified to be considered for the position of Menteri Besar, said PN secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.

He said there would be no announcement regarding the matter as it was still under discussion with the party's top brass.

"We want to ensure that our candidates feel deserving of being elected representatives at the state assembly level and as the Menteri Besar in Negeri Sembilan.

"So there is no need for us to announce anything yet as we are still discussing this matter with the top leadership," he said in Juasseh on Saturday.

When asked if PN intends to follow in the footsteps of the Muda in ordering all its candidates to declare their assets, he said the party has not yet decided.

"We can do it after winning (the elections) if necessary," he said.

Previously, it was reported that 19 Muda candidates contesting in the state elections on Aug 12 had taken a stance to disclose their assets, which the public can access through the party's website, undimuda.my.

Muda President Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said the asset declaration process was done transparently, adding that its candidates who disclosed their assets were also obligated to sign a statutory declaration.
