ALOR SETAR - A political speech by Pakatan Harapan (PH) featuring the younger brother of caretaker Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor in Kampung Alor Senibong, which was scheduled to take place last night, was cancelled.

Saidi Adnan Md Nor was scheduled to attend the programme 'Sembang Santai bersama anak muda' (casual chat with youths) alongside the PH candidate from PKR in the Bukit Pinang state constituency, Datuk Hadzir Md Zain, at 9:30pm.

However, one hour before the programme was set to begin, the ceramah was cancelled for specific reasons.

The event organisers' representative informed that Saidi Adnan could not attend such programme due to his responsibilities as a lecturer at a higher education institution in Manjung, Perak.

"As a civil servant, he cannot attend political events," he said.

Saidi Adnan's appearance was anticipated after a video of his brother, Sanusi, criticising him for supporting Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, went viral.

In a recent election campaign speech, Sanusi claimed that their father asked his younger brother to change his 'bin'(last name) because he did not agree with Pas and instead supported PKR.

Saidi Adnan is a former Yang Dipertua (YDP) of the Malaysian Islamic Youth Movement (ABIM) in Perak, besides being actively involved as an independent speaker and religious teacher in the state.

The political differences between the two siblings have gained attention as Sanusi and Anwar often engage in disputes and make accusations against each other during the 15th General Election campaign.

After Anwar was appointed Prime Minister, the PH chairman took legal action against Sanusi regarding statements made during the 15th general election (GE15) political campaign.

Since then, their relationship has been somewhat tense, with Sanusi frequently raising issues and exchanging arguments with Anwar.
