SEREMBAN - "I really hope Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun comes to visit me to help restore my spirit," said Hairul Anuar Hashim, 53, who was a former personal assistant to the Negeri Sembilan Chief Minister.

He, who has now fallen ill due to a stroke since 2015, said that the presence of Aminuddin, who was once his best friend, is much awaited.

"When old friends come, I become more motivated to recover.

"I served as his personal assistant for seven years, which was during the first time he wanted to contest in Sikamat. At that time, he didn't even have money to pay a deposit," he said when met at his home in Taman Warisan Puteri here on Sunday after receiving a visit from Sikamat State Assembly independent candidate Mohammed Hafiz Baharudin.

Meanwhile, his wife, Azlina Ali, 50, expressed her dismay because, ever since her husband is sick, Aminuddin has never visited them and has only sent a representative.

According to her, her husband started working with the Sikamat State Assembly incumbent from 2008 until 2015.

"He quit his job because he fell ill, and before that, he was one of Aminuddin's strongmen. He was even physically beaten when campaigning for him, who was contesting for the first time as a Member of the State Legislative Assembly (ADUN) at that time.

"I saw how my husband struggled for the party and Aminuddin, but what upset me was that Aminuddin, as a friend, never came to visit my husband," she said.

In fact, she said, her husband had expressed his desire to meet Aminuddin several times, who has gone through ups and downs together since the beginning of his struggle in the PKR.

She explained that she was not sure why the relationship between her husband and the leader was not as good as before.

"Now this is not a party issue, but a personal issue involving friends. Aminuddin's representative has come, but my husband wants to meet his friend (Aminuddin)," she said.
