‘I’d overthrow Zahid if I were still in Umno’ – Muhyiddin
KUALA NERUS - Perikatan National Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin firmly believes that he would have toppled Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahidi if he remained in the party.
According to Muhyiddin, Zahid had done a lot of damage to Umno, including violating the principles of the party’s struggle all this time by cooperating with DAP.
“It has reached a point where Umno members should just migrate, they should join Pas or Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu)
“Don't stay in Umno because Umno is already broken.
"Who ruined Umno... Zahid Hamidi. His actions have caused discord, who decided not to work with Anwar Ibrahim, not to work with DAP but what did Zahid do? He said not to do it, but he did it anyway.
"The problem with Umno is that there are no leaders and only followers. If I were to remain in Umno, I would find a way to topple Zahid because he has violated the Umno constitution and caused a disaster in addition to causing discord within the party," he said.
Muhyiddin said this while speaking at a meet the people event here.
He also called on the people to forget Umno and to instead choose Pas and Bersatu.
"It is high time we forget Umno... it is the time where we don't have to listen to what the leaders say,
"Therefore, we have no choice, the best choice in Terengganu and Kelantan is to choose Pas. Defend the existing government," he said stressed.
