State polls: Kelantanese need to forget Pas government - Zahid

TANAH MERAH - Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi asks the people of Kelantan to forget Pas government that has ruled the state for 33 years.

He said the people of the state need to take advantage of the opportunity that only comes every election for a new government change.

"They need to open their heart and mind. Forget everything that the state government had done for these 33 years.

"Open a new book, the Pas government has been in this state long enough. Try to elect us once for one term," he said at a press conference after officiating the Community Development Department (Kemas) Potential Day and the Smart Village Programme at Plaza Indonesia-Malaysia-Thailand Golden Triangle (IMT-GT) Bukit Bunga here on Monday.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) were committed to realising their manifesto if given the mandate by the people to lead the state.

He said that the most important thing in the manifesto is to eliminate the outstanding water bill of all the people in the state as soon as they win the state polls on Aug 12.

"We need to change for the well-being and prosperity of the people as the manifesto offered is related to the water problem in Kelantan. People have to pay bills even if the water doesn't come out, so we get rid of all outstanding bills.

"Other problems such as land tax and premium payments to change terms and conditions and so on will be reduced by 50 per cent by the new government later," he said.

Zahid in the meantime said that the federal government had never denied the rights that should be enjoyed in the state. In fact, there have been numerous initiatives done on par just as with other states.

He said that the unity government proved that they do not just sweet talk but also implemented and brought significantly tangible impact of developments to the people in the villages and the countryside despite facing an extremely challenging economic situation.

"Therefore, I would like to invite everyone to think more rationally about the unity government's capability.

"Honestly, I personally do not see the relevance of some folks who claimed that this government is being partial and ostracising states that do not share the same political direction," he said.
