KUALA SELANGOR - Perikatan Nasional (PN) is optimistic in ensuring promises outlined in the manifesto for the people of Selangor are implemented if they win this Saturday.

Chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said it was crucial to ensure the manifesto pledges are met without undue delays.

"The urgency is because the people today cannot wait even for a day (due to the pressure of living costs)," he said during his speech at the Permatang Restart Programme, Ayuh Bangkit Tanjong Karang, here last night.

Muhyiddin further said if PN secures victory and governs Selangor, the new administration will commit to realising the "Selangor Baharu, Kita Bangkit" (New Selangor, We Rise) manifesto, which has the Selangor Prihatin Economic Stimulus Package valued over RM2 billion.

"Even though the nation is grappling with economic uncertainties, has the Federal Government not earmarked allocations of RM100 billion, RM50 billion, or RM10 billion to aid the rakyat?," he questioned.

Muhyiddin said the designated Selangor Menteri Besar under PN's leadership would need to revitalise and propel the state forward.

Due to that, he proposed for an independent oversight body to monitor the disbursement of funds to fulfil all promises outlined in its Selangor manifesto.

He said expenditures, along with the beneficiaries must be meticulously recorded in the system to ensure fair and comprehensive distribution.

"The system (implemented must be user-friendly), should facilitate on processes to apply for assistance and most importantly, the system should not approve applications submitted after three years.

"It is a challenge when, during elections, constituents point out unfulfilled promises made swiftly but remain undelivered after three years," he said, adding that they are resolute in ensuring the people's manifesto is implemented switfy.
