KUALA LUMPUR - The Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry (Mosti) will emphasise the use of artificial intelligence (AI) technology in agriculture to increase the resilience of the country's agro-food sector, said its minister, Chang Lih Kang.

He said the ministry would also focus on regenerative agriculture and climate-resilient crops to boost the country’s food security.

"This is meant to increase productivity that will benefit small farmers," he said in an article shared with the media today.

Chang said in addition to the use of technology in agriculture, the government had also allocated RM200 million under Agrobank to be utilised to help provide financing facilities for farmers.

It is one of the efforts to support the local food industry and aimed at increasing production through the use of modern technology in the agricultural sector, he said.
