'Only vote for Reezal Merican not Zahid' - KJ

KEPALA BATAS - Former Umno Youth leader Khairy Jamaluddin has asked voters in the Bertam state seat to put aside their reservations about Barisan Nasional (BN) and vote for its candidate, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican in the upcoming state election on Aug 12.

Khairy said that although many people are reluctant to vote for BN candidates due to certain factors, he believes that Reezal is a capable and experienced leader who will be able to serve the people of Bertam well.

"It is very important for people to vote in the state polls, and to choose the best candidate for the job.

"In Bertam, I know that many people are reluctant to vote for BN candidates, but I urge you to put BN aside for a moment and look at Reezal Merican.

"He is a good man with a proven track record, and he will be a great representative for the people of Bertam.

"One vote for Reezal Merican (only) for Reezal Merican, nothing more than that. One vote for Reezal Merican not for Zahid Hamidi," said Khairy.

Khairy also pointed out that Reezal is the heir to the political legacy of Tun Abdullah Badawi, who was the state representative for Bertam for many years.

"Pak Lah (Tun Abdullah Badawi) has been a people's representative here since the 1970s, and he has done a lot for the people of Bertam. Reezal is the one who is carrying on his struggle, and I urge you to give him your support," said Khairy.

Khairy's appeal comes as the state polls in Bertam is shaping up to be a close contest between Reezal and his challenger, Khaliq Mehtab Mohd Ishaq.
