SEREMBAN - The Negeri Sembilan state government will announce a public holiday after the results of the state elections is announced on Saturday.

Caretaker Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said no discussions were made on the matter as yet.

“I can’t announce it now, I will announce it tomorrow after the results come out.

“It’s okay if they (Selangor) had announced it, Insya-Allah Negeri Sembilan will announce it tomorrow (Saturday) after the results come out.

Wait for tomorrow,” he told reporters after praying at the Jalan Tunku Kurshiah Surau, here on Friday.

He urged Negeri Sembilan residents to go out and vote early in the morning as the weather was uncertain.

Aminuddin who is also running for the Sikamat state seat candidate said he hopes to see over 80 per cent voter turnout in this election.

“I hope everyone manages to go out and vote for us to choose the state government, this opportunity shouldn’t be wasted.

“This evening I saw individuals returning home, I would like to thank them. Insya-Allah if nothing happens Pakatan Harapan (PH) and BN will successfully defend the current government,” he said.
