GEORGETOWN – Penang's caretaker Chief Minister, Chow Kon Yeow, has disclosed that the formation of the Penang State Executive Council (exco) will take place after the appointment of the new Penang Chief Minister, which is scheduled for Aug 13.

"We will engage in discussions with the Unity Government to outline the composition of the new exco," he informed the media at St. Giles Wembley Hotel today.

Chow, who has secured victory in the Padang Kota state seat further explained that this appointment should be deliberated with the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition, given that Penang has achieved a two-thirds majority in all state seats contested by the PH component parties: DAP, PKR, Amanah, and Barisan Nasional (BN).

"I believe we have attained this objective, securing two-thirds of the state seats in Penang," he elaborated.

Responding to inquiries about how DAP managed to win the contested state seats, he noted that the PH coalition selected new candidates for the elections.

Earlier, Chow announced that the PH coalition had emerged victorious in the Penang polls, securing 29 out of the available state seats.
