KUALA LUMPUR - The state elections now proved that the coalition bloc could successfully defend their strongholds.

Umno Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin said he reminded all parties to focus on the public agenda.

"Now we will wait for the end of term. I hope in the next elections, the public can evaluate all the parties in the next five years.

"I think that's enough of these politics. We don't want to talk about trivial questions, after this we must focus on the public agenda," he said when met at the World Trade Centre (WTC) on Saturday.

The government administration in the six states facing elections remained, looking at the results so far.

PH-BN continued to control Selangor, Penang and Negeri Sembilan while Perikatan Nasional (PN) defended Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu.
