SHAH ALAM - The economy and growing costs of living issues are becoming a more popular topic of conversation among voters and they want the party members to address them.

MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong said the victorious candidates should carry out the trust as best as they can and never lose the voters' faith in them.

"Those who won did not win it all and those who lost did not lose it all. Most importantly, the well-being of the people must be prioritised as well as the prosperity of the country. It is time to get to work on national reconciliation.

"The public wants a clearer picture of the country's direction and it needs to be planned jointly by the government and the opposition whether at the central or state level," he said in a Facebook post, today.

Yesterday, elections were held in six states with a total of 570 candidates competing for 245 state seats.

Perikatan Nasional (PN) won 146 seats in the state elections, followed by Pakatan Harapan (80 seats) and Barisan Nasional (19 seats).

Simultaneously, Wee said he hoped that the losing candidates would not give up and will instead continue to serve the people.
