BN needs to reflect on failure to seize Terengganu - Tengku Zaihan

BESUT - Former Kuala Besut assemblyman Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abd Rahman believes that the state elections results which did not favour Terengganu Barisan Nasional (BN) should be taken as something for everyone to reflect.

He said that despite feeling sad about the failure, it needs to be accepted with an open heart.

"Although the results this time are not in our favour, it gives us an opportunity to reflect and see the silver lining in everything that happens," he wrote on Facebook on Saturday.

The state polls that took place on Saturday saw Zaihan lost to his opponent Azbi Salleh with a majority of 4,119 votes.

Azbi who represented Perikatan Nasional (PN) won having amassed 11,496 votes while Zaihan only managed to score 7,377 votes.

Meanwhile, on the same post, Zaihan also thanked the entire machinery and supporters for their hard work throughout the campaign.

"I take this opportunity to apologise if there were mistakes and errors during my two terms of service.

"Everything good is from Allah SWT and everything bad is a weakness and deficiency from myself," he expressed.

He also congratulated all the candidates who won in the election.

"Congratulations to all the winners who comntested. Hopefully, they will carry out their duty and responsibility with trust and just," he said.
