SHAH ALAM - The effectiveness of Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli's leadership is being questioned as an expert points out that none of his proposed formulas seem to be yielding tangible results in reality.

Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Ethnic Studies Deputy Director Institute Professor Dr Kartini Aboo Talib opined that while past analyses by Invoke have faced opposition, human perceptions are adaptable and can change over time.

She shared her reservations about Rafizi's leadership, noting that his strategies have yet to materialise into real-world outcomes.

"Despite these concerns, I think that Rafizi should be given a second chance to demonstrate his competence in steering the nation toward economic stability, especially in the face of inflationary pressures," Kartini told Sinar Daily.

Meanwhile, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) associate professor of political Science Dr Syaza Shukri expressed her view that she's not entirely certain if her perspective stands out, as she finds herself in agreement with some of Rafizi's viewpoints.

Addressing the complex issue of water management, Syaza highlighted that this matter largely falls under the jurisdiction of each individual state.

"The persistent water challenges faced by Kelantan over the years indicate that the issue extends beyond the influence of the current administration or even the prior Pakatan Harapan (PH) 1.0 government.

"Additionally, it's crucial to recognise that solely attributing the problem to the federal government's alleged neglect of Kelantan might not provide a complete picture, as federal authorities have also provided loans to the state," she said.
