KOTA BHARU - Amanah's Dr Hafidzah Mustakim's victory in the Kota Lama state seat in the state election has been hailed as response to allegations directed to the party as Islamic betrayers and DAP donkeys.

Kelantan Amanah Chairman Khalid Samad said the polls results underscores the shift in voters from rigid slogans of "vote for Pas or reject Islam."

"The willingness of the people to embrace Amanah's candidate representing Pakatan Harapan (PH) this time demonstrates an increasing understanding that elections revolve around entrusting responsibilities and administration to those who are competent and qualified.

"Kota Lama, as the inception point of leadership, symbolises the breaking of chains of biased thinking towards the party," he said during a press conference, here, today.

Also present was Dr Hafidzah.

The victory, Khalid said symbolises a departure from narrow-minded party biasness.

Congratulating the candidate and thanking the tireless PH and BN machinery, Khalid reiterated on their commitment to further expand their influence ahead of the 16th general election (GE16).

In Aug 12 Kelantan polls, Dr Hafidzah surprised many by wresting the Pas stronghold, overtaking Pas candidate Datuk Zamri Ismail with a slim majority of 202 votes.
