SHAH ALAM - The time has come to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and unity to develop the state and country together.

Deputy Prime Minister and Umno President Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stated that thisis the course of action that should be taken after the state elections have concluded.

"Now is the time for us to come together to build a harmonious life with a spirit of mutual respect, empathy, and safeguarding rights and justice, to establish a stable and prosperous nation.

"Let this verse of Allah SWT that I share (Surah Al-Hujurat: Verse 10) be a guide and a foundation for us to reunite after the phase of selecting representatives for the people has just ended.

"Islam encourages us to be open-minded and seek peace so that we can unite, harness all our strength and energy to move collectively towards creating positive change that contributes to common goodness," he shared in a Facebook posting today,

The results of the recent state elections saw Barisan Nasional (BN) experiencing its worst defeat in history, winning only 19 out of 108 seats in the State Legislative Assembly contested.

The coalition with Pakatan Harapan (PH) only won 14 seats in Negeri Sembilan, two seats each in Selangor and Penang, and one in Kelantan.
