JOHOR BAHRU - The cooperation between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) Johor was strengthened as leaders of both parties held their first meeting at the Umno Johor headquarters on Friday.

The closed meeting was held to discuss preparations for the by-elections of Pulai Parliament seat and the Simpang Jeram state assembly seat on Sept 9.

A survey at the venue at 3pm found that the meeting was attended by Johor BN chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin.

Also present was Johor PH deputy chairman who is also Amanah state chairman Amilnolhuda Hassan, Johor Amanah vice chairman Suhaizan Kaiat and Umno Johor secretary Datuk Abdul Halim Suleiman.

Aminolhuda and Suhaizan's presence at the Umno Johor headquarters was a first for Johor PH leaders since the Unity Government was established at the federal level.

Last week, Aminolhuda, who is also Sri Gading Member of Parliament was reported as saying that Johor Amanah is actively making preparations and that he will meet up with Khaled who is also the Umno Johor chairman to mobilise the PH-BN machinery ahead of the polls.
