SHAH ALAM - The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, has consented to the swearing-in ceremony for the new Selangor Menteri Besar and state executive council members to be held on Monday.

The Selangor Royal Office, in its statement, said the Menteri Besar will take his oath of office before the Sultan at Balairung Seri, Istana Alam Shah Klang, at 11am.

Followed by the swearing ceremony of Selangor Exco members, which will take place at 2pm at the same venue.

The Selangor Royal Office, however, did not disclose in the statement the name of the future Selangor Menteri Besar.

The media previously reported that the Unity Government would retain Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari as Selangor Menteri Besar if the Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition won the state poll.

It was announced by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, on July 18 when he officiated the Selangor Madani Agro Touch event in Kuala Selangor.

In the Selangor election last Saturday, the PH-BN coalition successfully formed the state government following its victory in 34 out of 56 state seats.

The 34 seats were obtained by DAP (15 seats), PKR (12 seats), Amanah (five seats), and BN (two seats).
