ALOR GAJAH - National Unity and Integration Department (JPNIN) director-general Datuk Che Roslan Che Daud has called on civil servants who participated in this year’s Jalinan Integrasi Nasional Penjawat Awam programme to share their experiences with their colleagues.

He said it was important for civil servants to keep spreading the message of unity, which would help close the gap between communities.

According to him, 79 civil servants participated in this year’s programme, which was conducted in two locations, namely in Kampung Gadek, Melaka, and Kampung Balung Cocs, Tawau, Sabah.

"This programme was designed to strengthen the relationship between selected civil servants from Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan and those in the peninsula.

"Participants will stay with their foster families and undergo a three-day cross-cultural programme to bring them closer to the local culture,” he told reporters after attending the closing ceremony of the Jalinan Integrasi Nasional Penjawat Awam 2023 prgoramme at Balai Raya Kampung Gadek here today.

The ceremony, which was officiated by State Health, Human Resources and Unity Committee chairman Ngwe Hee Sem, was also attended by Melaka JPNIN director Intan Suhana Yusuff.

Che Roslan said a similar programme involving university students from the peninsula studying in Sabah and Sarawak would also be held in Sarawak in October.

Meanwhile, Ngwe said 18 families in Kawasan Rukun Tetangga Kampung Gadek were selected to be foster families for the 41 participants of the Jalinan Integrasi Penjawat Awam 2023 programme.
