KOTA BHARU - Former committee member of Pas Ulama Council Ahmad Dusuki Abd Rani has lost in his defamation suit against Kelantan Parti Amanah Negara's (Amanah) Youth chief Mohd Zulhazmi Hassan or better known as Jeming, over allegation that the Tabung Haji (TH) assets were being sold to non-Muslims.

The suit was in relation to a video uploaded by Mohd Zulhazmi alleging that the TH assets were sold to non-Muslims during the previous Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration.

Consequently, the High Court here today dismissed Ahmad Dusuki's appeal to overturn the Sessions Court's decision which rejected his lawsuit.

He was also ordered to pay RM10,000 in costs to Mohd Zulhazmi.

The decision was made by Judge Datuk Roslan Abu Bakar after finding that the video by Mohd Zulhazmi was not defamatory since it was proven that TH assets were not sold to non-Muslims.

Roslan also found that Ahmad Dusuki's statement could have a negative impact on both Muslims and non-Muslims in Malaysia.

On Aug 28, last year, the Sessions Court, here, rejected Ahmad Dusuki's suit.

Ahmad Dusuki was represented by lawyer Mohd Jamil Yaacob while Mohd Zulhazmi was represented by lawyer Faiz Fadzil.
