Bowling - Adania clinches gold, Lavina Kho settles for bronze at Asian Junior meet

KUALA LUMPUR - Malaysia’s young keglers secured their first gold medal after Adania Mohd Rezwan topped the girls' single category at the 22nd Asian Junior Bowling Championship held in Singapore today.

According to the results posted on the Asian Bowling Federation’s website, Malaysia clinched success at Singapore Bowling @ Rifle Range when Adania knocked down 1,327 pins after six games, overcoming her nearest challenger Emily Hart of Australia, who had to settle for the silver with 1,243 pinfalls.

The bronze medal also went to another Malaysian, Lavina Kho Jia Jie who had a total of 1,223 pinfalls while Nurul Anis Nabila and Nur Jeehan Iezzaty Suffian only managed seventh and eighth place with 1,185 and 1,182 pinfalls respectively.

Meanwhile, in the boys' event, Singaporean Aiman Lim grabbed the gold medal after knocking down 1,373 pins, while the silver and bronze went to Qatar’s Bader Al Sada (1,366) and Japan’s Daiya Saito (1,297) respectively.

The 22nd Asian Junior Tenpin Bowling Championship kicked off on Aug 19 and will end on Aug 25 - BERNAMA
